A house on a bumpy road, only ever owned by one family. That is what I call home. My whole life i’ve lived down a dirt road with very few houses on it. My house and one other were the only one with kids in it. There were many trees on this road.
My house is tan and white. It has one big deck with a little one right next to it. Attached is a garage. My house wasn’t originally like this. My house use to be yellow and white with only one deck. Then soon we added an additional mud room with a deck and my garage. We also changed the fence from wood to vinyl. That doesn’t even amount to what we have done on the inside.
It goes from a bathroom, bedroom, living room, or kitchen there was either a project ending or starting in it. I would have to say both bathrooms got a makeover at least four times. The kitchen five times, livingroom seven and bedrooms at least three times. It ranged between getting new furniture or rearranging furniture. I had my room get redecorated a minimum of four times.
My house just like many other trends and popular styles has changed. As I grew and changed through my life so had my room and a lot of other rooms in my house but the memories you make in that room even though it doesn’t look the same anymore. The memories you have of where you growing up and it metaphorically kinda growing and changing as you do. The memories is what makes a home not the house. A house is just something that can be changed.
Home is not the place or the things you own home is the memories you make and the lessons you’ve learned. Home is also where you find comfort whether it’s with a person or people, or a place. Home is where you feel peaceful and where you find comfort. It’s where you want to go when you’re scared. Everyone has their own interpretation of a home.
